Torsten began his apprenticeship at 20 years of age with the Hotel Inter-Continental in his home town of Hamburg, Germany. He had the fortune of starting out his culinary career at a time when Germany was experiencing a culinary re-birth and was a part of the movement that was redefining German cuisine. In 1993, Torsten went freelance and began working as a chef in recording studios for artists, private parties and events with guest lists of up to 300 people.  He worked in many of  Hamburgs finest dining hotspots including Caspari, Nil, Elblounge and Jacobs Restaurant (1 Michelin Star). He also gained fundamental experience working with international catering companies. Since his relocation to Mal Pais, Costa Rica in 2005, Torsten has been creating extraordinary meals as a private chef  for celebrities, weddings, cocktail parties and in private homes in Costa Rica and around the world.
